The Carvival of Venice
More than any other city, Venice is famous for its carnivals, for the most extravagant costumes, more or less open singular amorous adventures and somewhat honest intrigues tied to its masks.
In the past, wearing a mask during Carnival let everyone join in this festival that united Venetians regardless of the social class. Wearing a mask was permitted several times a year.
Today, the olden days and court balls are revived thanks to wearing masks.
